Tech Connections - syllabus (pdf)Technology Connections is a required semester-long course included in the core course of study for all students in grade 9. The course provides a foundation in use of technology tools that will enable students to utilize software programs, digital cameras and scanners as they learn effective ways of creating projects for assignments in other high school classes. The course covers technology ethics; e-mail and the school district network; computer basics; using word processing software; using presentation software techniques; and creating Web pages. Career and educational planning is also included in the course. A "challenge" opportunity is available each fall for students who feel they can demonstrate mastery in all modules. Students complete performance demonstrations for each module and complete the career and educational planning module. Information about the challenge is available online at here. Students who complete the required competencies in Technology Connections with a B or better grade may qualify for both high school and college credit for the class. Semester 1 Weekly Calendars
