Currently Bellingham High School's Design Engineering classes are devoting their time designing bridges for the International Bridge Building Contest sponsored by Illinois Institute of Technology located in Chicago.

Students at BHS are always looking for new contests to get involved in that fit with the current curriculum. We will be looking for other competitions this spring.

This part of the curriculum covers the leadership component of the class as we do the bridge design as part of the JETS club (Junior Engineering Technical Society).

JETS promotes interest in engineering, science, mathematics, and technology, and is dedicated to providing real-world engineering and problem-solving experience to high school students. JETS programs challenge students to discover engineering in high school.
