COURSE OBJECTIVES: After successful completion of this course you will have a better understanding of designing, developing and maintaining web pages.
COLLEGE TECH PREP CREDIT: This course is College Tech Prep approved and articulated with Skagit Valley College's Multimedia & Interactive Technology program. Juniors and seniors whose final grade is a B or better for this course are eligible to apply for 5 college credits through Skagit Valley Community College. To earn a B or better you must demonstrate mastery of all the skills included on the attached check list and complete all the assigned course work and independent projects at a high level of proficiency. Completing two semesters of Web Development and Design and earning a B grade ensures that you have mastered the content of the following Skagit Valley College course:
EXPECTATIONS: You will be expected to acquire, to the best of your ability, the skills, knowledge, and techniques as they relate to this course. Additionally, such skills as technical writing, researching, listening, thinking, and the use of technology will be improved through instruction/review and practice. Technology is the primary skill, which the Technology Department is responsible for teaching to all students. The skills learned in Web Design have a tremendous carry over into current vocational workplace applications.
1. Use and take care of the Computers (boot-up & shutdown properly etc).
2. Do not use Internet unless teacher permission for class uses. No downloading games or other unauthorized programs from the Internet or software brought into the room.
2. When class begins, you may not leave without permission. Messages requiring you to leave must be cleared through instructor.
3. Maintain a business-like atmosphere in the room. Reasonable talking will be permitted during routine days.
4. If absent the day an assignment is due, turn it in the first day you return. This is your responsibility.
5. Always perform at peak efficiency. Don't cheat yourself.
GRADING: - Point System
1. Assignment points vary depending upon complexity of student project.
2. Portfolio points graded on a rubric (should show culmination of what you have accomplished during the semester).
Note: Keep all your work in an electronic folder for end of the semester review.
3. Late assignments will be accepted but with a reduction in points
4. 15% of your grade will be on attendance and participation: These points are automatically awarded. Note: Daily points will be deducted for the following: Unexcused absences
or improper use of daily class time will result in a loss of 3 points. Unexcused tardies will result in a loss of 1 point. A combination of the above mentioned can only reach a maximum of 15 points.

100% - 92.5% = A
92% - 89.5% = A-
89% - 86.5% = B+
86% - 82.5% = B
82% - 79.5% = B-
79% - 76.5% = C+
76% - 72.5% = C
72% - 69.5% = C-
69% - 66.5% = D+
66% - 59.5% = D
BELOW 59.5% = F
